A Multi-Cloud Governance and Site Reliability Engineering Framework for FinTech Platforms: A Case Study

Ramesh Marella

Abstract
Financial technology (FinTech) platforms increasingly rely on multi-cloud architectures to achieve scalability, resilience, and vendor independence. However, this paradigm introduces significant challenges in governance, observability, and operational reliability. This paper presents a comprehensive Multi-Cloud Governance and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) framework tailored for FinTech environments. The proposed framework integrates governance policies, reliability engineering principles, and observability mechanisms into a unified architecture. A real-world case study demonstrates the effectiveness of the approach, achieving 99.99% availability, a 40% reduction in mean time to resolution (MTTR), and a 30% improvement in cost efficiency. The findings highlight the importance of standardized governance and SRE practices in enhancing the reliability and compliance of distributed financial systems.
Impact Statement
maintaining high levels of availability, compliance, and operational efficiency. This work introduces a novel and practically validated framework for multi-cloud governance and site reliability engineering (SRE) in
FinTech environments, addressing a critical gap in the integration of governance, observability, and reliability practices across distributed cloud platforms. The proposed framework enables organizations to standardize operations across heterogeneous cloud providers while The implementation results-99.99% availability, 40% reduction in MTTR, and 30% cost optimization-demonstrate the framework’s
effectiveness in improving both system reliability and business outcomes. These measurable improvements indicate the framework’s potential to significantly influence operational practices in cloud-based financial systems. The contribution is broadly applicable to industries requiring high reliability, regulatory compliance, and scalable cloud infrastructure. By providing a reusable and cloud-agnostic model, this work supports organizations in adopting multi-cloud strategies without compromising governance or system stability
